Rob@X-tour-R

veeefour
Hi guys My name is Prez and I'm the creator of this system. I can see there are some doubts here so I joined to discuss. Do not hesitate to ask me a question. You can ask in English and in German. Sorry, my Dutch is not so great. If you guys can make some videos for my YT channel I might give you some more discount. VFoRever
I do not own a vfr1200 and so i'm not interested in the cruisecontrol. I think it's a great system that you built, but I understand that some people on this forum, which do own a vfr1200, also like the system, but don't like the looks of the buttons. I think that if the looks were nearer to the Honda finish of the motorbike and maybe more integrated in the overall look of dashboard and steer, more people would buy it. I think it looks just fine, but again I don't have a VFR1200. So I don't think the price of the unit is the main reason for buying or not buying, but how it looks on the vfr. veeefour
Well, I must admit that I never had any complaints on the switch design whatsoever - this is the first place where that question was raised. The ECC is selling "fine" but it could be better. Only today I sold 2 kits and over 35 kits total. The switch is billet aluminum with stainless hardware - it's waterproof as well. The switch will probably outlast the motorcycle: I had two goals while designing it - reliable and cheap. I can design something more sophisticated but who will pay 100 EU extra just for the switch? While most owners already complain about the TOO HIGH price. Therefore I have no plans for designing anything else. I can always include the extra cable so you can swap something from another motorcycle - just like I did with Kawasaki ZX14R switch: Regards Prez Edited June 7, 2016 by veeefour
MikeyMan
Is it possible to adapt it to other bikes?

VFRFlanders
From what I read on VFRD, even if you buy the full version with the connectors, you still have to solder some wires. Is that correct?
veeefour
Yes, 2 wires for DCT and 3 wires for manual transmission. For Crosstourer: 4 for DCT and 5 for manual transmission. Crosstourer version comes with special brackets but the price is the same. Have tried to make it plug&play but it's not possible. VFRFlanders
Is it possible to use posi-tap connectors instead of soldering? A lot cleaner and easier I think...Costs around 2€ a piece. Edited June 7, 2016 by VFRFlanders
veeefour
I have some quick connectors on hand and will include them for free at request. I do not recommend them but if you feel you can trust them - I see no problem. I have those on hand: Edited June 7, 2016 by veeefour
